A Fun Time at the Abide Youth Event
On Saturday 27th April, three Youth Leaders and eleven young people from our parish went along to the ABIDE Youth event at St Michaels School. This was a large event with approx. 200 young people and their leaders attending from across the diocese. The theme of the day was that as we come to Jesus he accepts us just 'as we are'. It was a day full of workshops, crafts, dances, and games.
The Youth Mission band led us through a range of worship songs and the Diocesan Youth team helped us explore the character of Moses. Moses made so many excuses throughout his life about not feeling good enough nor having the confidence to do Gods will and spread Gods word to the Israelites. It reminds us that just because we don’t have confidence in ourselves, or self-worth it doesn’t mean that God cannot use us to fulfil his purpose. God had faith in Moses and accepted him “Just as he was” and what a wonderful difference Moses went on to make!!!
We enjoyed pizza and chips and some additional cake, as one of young ones Caitlin turned 15 that day, and received 2 cakes!!!
Our day ended with sharing the Eucharist, led by Bishop Philip, which was a very special time for us all. We look forward to attending next year's event in March 2025.
